Established in 2015 as a partnership between the Centre for Research Collections and the School of History of Art, the CARC takes globalisation as its central theme, setting a specific focus on women’s experience and the contribution of feminist thought.
We have commissioned and acquired works by artists including Petra Bauer and the Southall Black Sisters, Petra Bauer and SCOT-PEP, Kate Davis, Ruth Ewan, Melanie Gilligan, Winnie Herbstein, Jessie Jones, Myriam Lefkowitz, Tessa Lynch, Shona Macnaughton, Manual Labours, Lucy Parker, Olivia Plender, Martha Rosler, Alberta Whittle.
